Two most anticipated games: Star Wars Force Unleashed, Civilization Revolution

Gaming, News No Comments »

In a more pleasing gaming news post, there are two games that have a no failure possible rating. These two games are Star Wars: Force Unleashed and Civilization Revolution. Not only is Civilization making it’s long awaited pilgrimage to the consoles, but the SW:FU features the most ridiculous usage of force powers ever seen in a Star Wars game, not to mention costume changes and a bad ass apprentice. I’ve been missing my fix since JK2! Both games look like a knock out, and I cannot wait to see how they turn out.

HADOUKEN!!! Street Fighter 4 to Debut Next Month

Gaming, News 3 Comments »
Arcade fans everywhere are rejoicing over the recent news that street fighter 4 is debuting next month. It features 3-D graphics with a 2-d fighter control system, and from what I’ve seen, this looks to be an amazing addition to the Street Fighter Franchise. This excerpt, via Shacknews, sums it up nicely:
Street Fighter IV project manager Natsuki Shiozawa announced on the game’s official Japanese blog that the game would make its first playable appearance at next month’s AOU 2008 Amusement Expo. “

I’m not the biggest fan of Soul Calibur Games, and I got pretty pissed off when I found out that little green midget with the wrinkled forehead  was going to be in the Xbox 360 version of soul calibur, but then I found the screenshot on gamespot.com that made me all happy and giddy for a Playstation 3 this year. Check this out:Bow Down to a true pimp B#(*!

It’s DBZ again, but it looks so GOOD

I know you have probably played the countless amount of Dragonball Z games that have spawned from the japanese womb over the past 17 years, but this Next-Gen installment looks to be taking the series for a much needed change in direction. DBZ: Burst Limit will feature around thirty amazing looking, well balanced characters, as opposed to the god knows how many in other games in the series who’s power differentiated in ways unknown to man. I did some soul searching and found a great YouTube video that displays the trailer, and i’ve also linked to some good looking screenshots over at videogamer.com.

Gaming, News No Comments »
If you own an Xplorer controller (famous from the Guitar Hero series of games on the Xbox 360) then you should already know about Frets on Fire. If not, then you need to know. Frets on fire is an amazing port of Guitar Hero mechanics to the PC, and it does it well. With slight modification, you can have the hammer on pull off feature, rock meter, and everything else set up (like mine!). You are also able to import guitar hero songs from any game straight to your PC. Read the rest of this entry »

If it weren’t enough that the movie is coming out, Sega looks to be releasing an Iron Man game to complement the silver screen. If you can’t tell the difference, this is an In-Game shot, not a movie CGI rendering. Gears of war who? If you want to check out some more info, you can delve into the sources at [ Iron Man - Gamespot.com] for more tantalizing photos and other amazing goodies. For now, if you want some more screen shots, I’ve got some below for you to get fap happy for.

A Gamers View of 2008

Gaming, News No Comments »
Many of us avid (and not so much) gamers have come to a point in the industry where we are confused. “Is it graphics” or “Is it quality of content” has become the two questions I have asked myself consistently over the past 2 years. I find myself playing games like Final Fantasy Tactics on the original PSX or a CPS-3 emulator instead of firing up the Xbox360 and playing even the first 10 minutes of Crackdown or Halo 3. Has the industry become a billion dollar race to see which company can produce the best graphical quality? Or is it just that we aren’t giving them enough credit for doing what they’ve done already? Who knows. But what I do know is that in 2008, i’m hoping all of that will change, and there’s a couple of games that I have my eyes set on. I’ve compiled a list of those games, and with great hope, these will bring back the gaming that I know of.
